Adiposity-Based Chronic Disease (ABCD) is a new diagnostic term for obesity that explicitly identifies a chronic disease, and alludes to a “pathophysiologic basis, and avoids the stigmata and confusion related to the differential use and multiple meanings of the term “obesity.”
